IceFish 2026, Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Exhibition & Conference
A cornerstone of the global marine industry since 1984, IceFish (the Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Exhibition & Conference) is gearing up for its 15th edition, set to run September 22–24, 2026, at Smárinn Fífan Halls in Kópavogur, just outside Reykjavik. Building on the 2024 event’s record turnout 12,387 attendees from 60 countries, the biennial showcase is doubling down on sustainability, innovation, and global collaboration to meet the sector’s evolving needs.
The expanded programme features two headline conference tracks: the debut “Aquaculture: Driving Sustainable Growth” (September 22) and the returning “100% Fish for Profit,” focusing on circular economy solutions for full resource utilization. Developed in partnership with the Icelandic Ocean Cluster, the agenda also includes targeted business matchmaking, innovation spotlights, new product launches, and the esteemed Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture Awards, which honor excellence in sustainability, tech, and operational efficiency.
Global industry leaders and local innovators alike will take center stage as exhibitors. Confirmed names include Dantherm Group AS, Richan Netting, and Iceland’s Reiknistofa Fiskmarkaðanna (RSF), showcasing cutting-edge solutions from smart fishing equipment and land-based aquaculture tech to end-to-end value chain optimizations.
IceFish 2026 arrives at a pivotal moment for Iceland’s fisheries sector, which contributes 12% of the country’s export revenue. It aligns with Iceland’s 2026 policy reforms—slashing import duties on intelligent fishing gear from 11.6% to 3.3% to support EU Common Fisheries Policy compliance while coinciding with a fourfold boost to capelin fishing quotas (now 197,474 tonnes) and a €100 million European Investment Bank (EIB) financing package for sustainable marine projects. With 60% of Iceland’s seafood exports heading to the EU and China on track to become a $2 billion trade partner by 2026, the event serves as a critical link to key markets.
“IceFish 2026 is all about equipping businesses to navigate regulatory shifts, sustainability demands, and technological change,” noted [Organizer Spokesperson]. “It’s where global expertise meets on-the-ground innovation—an unmissable hub for anyone invested in the future of fisheries and aquaculture.”
